Craftworks Clay Community meets on the third Thursday of each month.  Whether you’re professional or newbie, old or young, come out to meet other clay enthusiasts, and join in whatever activity we have planned.  Some months will be potlucks and conversation, others will be activities or field trips, so stay in touch and mark your calendars.

    Thursday, September 18th, 2014

Come out in the early evening for a 6pm stroll into the heart of the Craftworks Bull Run Watershed, then gather at the  main building for a 6:30pm potluck.  Bring your own dish/cup/silver to use, and bring a piece or two to leave at Craftworks to begin the Local Clay kitchen wares.  (all kitchen items welcome)  Are you a sculptor or maker of non-functional wares?  Bring a piece of what you do so we can see. Are you new to clay?  Come on out and meet some folks.

We'll have some white clay available for folks who want to make something for our October Pit Fire (October 11th) during the American Craft Week.  If you are a maker with a kiln, take some with you, and bring it back bisqued for the pit firing.  If you are newer to clay, make something while you are here, and we'll have it bisqued for you...just come back for the pit firing.

Please email Joy (joybridy@yahoo.com) if you'd like to pick up clay, or would like to make something, so we know how much to bring along.  Donations accepted based on price of clay to cover costs, with any extra going to Craftworks.

    AWESOME ART GIRLS CLUB

(Currently closed - due to high enrollment)

Are you or do you know a 9 or 10 year-old girl who loves art?  Does she love learning about and doing art projects?  Can she commit to being a regular participant in our new Awesome Art Girls Club?

Beginning its third year of creativity and fun, Awesome Art Girls Club has moved to CraftWorks.  Open to girls ages 9-10 the club will meet once a month for 3 hours.  Because classes build upon each other, participation in the club requires a commitment to regular attendance.  Although there is no participation fee, there may be nominal material fees depending on the projects chosen by the girls.
