Yes, you heard that right. Homemade real chocolate hot fudge! Come to our beautiful building for two hours of fun, feasting and fellowship. If you are receiving this newsletter, you are our community. And so are your friends. We have room for 30 folk at this event each month and it is totally family friendly. Teaching Artist: Rebecca Jones
Join Rebecca for a monthly workshop of CraftWorks’ community of artists who draw or paint. All levels welcome; no experience necessary! It’s a relaxing time to connect with other creative people in a supportive, sharing atmosphere. Each workshop begins with a demo and inspirational talk about the creative process, followed by studio time with individual instruction available, then a closing gathering and critique. Bring something to work on, and enjoy the inspiration! Class limited to 12. Day: 4th Saturday of each month starting in July. Time: 2:00 - 5:00 Cost: $25 non-member $20 members
Do you create art with fiber, including art quilts, freeform crochet, embroidery, needle felting, and mixed media involving fiber (fabric, wool, etc)? Do you enjoy seeing what others are doing, sharing techniques and working in a fun, supportive environment?
Join us for a meet and greet to gauge interest in building this community. Bring samples of your work for show & tell. If there is sufficient interest, the group will begin meeting on the second Sunday of every month from 2-5pm. It’s free, but please register. Whatever kind of beading you do, join this supportive and fun group to share ideas and techniques. Expand your horizons by seeing what others are making and doing. The Circle meets the 3rd Sunday of the month from 2-6 pm. Bring a project to work on and the supplies you'll need. All levels and all types of projects welcome! It’s free but please be sure to register.
Join this free musical jam session where the focus is on fun, recreation and community. It’s improvised and incorporates all ages and all levels of skill. Never drummed before? here's your chance. There's an introduction for newbies at 6:30.
If you have participated in a drum circle before, bring your hand drums and small percussion to the circle, and help us bring this idea to reality here at home in Jefferson County. The circle is facilitated by a community member, Tracy Seffers, who has been drumming in the DC area for several years. Her teachers include Jaqui MacMillan, Katy Gaughan, and Jim Donovan of Rusted Root--all of whom studied with Baba Olatunji.

This introductory class is FREE! Leader Dawn Shue will start with guided relaxation to center the mind, body and breath. From there we’ll move into a gentle warm up with flow sequences (Sun Salutations) to stimulate the body and breath. Every session ends with guided final relaxation. When the weather suits we’ll begin class with some gentle stretches and proceed on a meditative walk through the trails becoming more mindful of our body, breath and the world around us creating a peaceful state of mind. We will end the hike with cool down stretches and reflective final relaxation. This is an all level class as modifications are offered for every pose. Bring your own mat. If you don’t have one, borrow one of ours. Tuition after this first class is $15 per session, $13 for members, 5 sessions for $65 (save $10. and help motivate yourself to stay with it!)
